Q. What happens when it freezes?

When the temperature drops to or below the freezing point, it doesn’t have any effect because if the downspout cannot block up there is never any water in the gutter to freeze.

 

Q. When it rains really hard does the gutter run over?

GutterStuff^® works wonderfully in nearly all weather conditions and since it's absorbent, water runs right through it. However, in extremely heavy downpours your gutters may not be able to keep up with the water flow and may overflow, as is common with any product.

 

Q. Do you need to clean it?

While GutterStuff^® is not completely maintenance-free, not much effort is required. The porous nature of the material allows the smallest particles to pass through while the larger particles remain on top to be blown away or rinsed off by rain. However, over time some debris may accumulate. Periodic sweeping of the top of GutterStuff^®

with a stiff-bristled broom or brush should be all that is needed to enjoy years of trouble-free service.

 

Q. How do you install it around the gutter spikes?

Simply slide GutterStuff^® right under the gutter spikes.

 

Q. Do birds and other animals harm the foam?

No, GutterStuff^® has been tested so far for over five years all over the country and to our knowledge, that has never happened.

 

Q. What about the tiny pieces of gravel from the roof shingles?

The gravel should pass right through and get washed down the downspout. However, as mentioned above, you may need to periodically brush off the surface to keep too much debris from accumulating.

 

Q. Does the heat from the sunlight harm the foam?

No, only the very top surface gets a little stiff. The rest of the filter is shaded so the Sun’s ultra-violet rays cannot harm it.

 

Q. Can the wind blow it out of the gutter?

No it fits snugly in the gutter and under the spikes.

 

Q. How long has this product been on the market?

GutterStuff^® was first marketed during the first quarter of 2003.

 

Q. So, is GutterStuff^® Pro really as great as it sounds?

We don't want to mislead you into thinking that GutterStuff^® is a "miracle" solution. Despite years of effort, there is no perfect gutter screening system. Don't listen to anyone who says otherwise. During many years of service, your gutters get a heck of a lot of abuse. With constant exposure to tree debris, bird droppings and asphalt "pellets," it's difficult for any product to be absolutely 100% effective. That being said, we believe GutterStuff^® provides the best compromise of an open gutter system with minimal maintenance schedule, at extremely affordable pricing.

While we believe it is more effective and user-friendly than other products out there, GutterStuff^® will require occasional maintenance such as periodic sweeping of accumulated surface debris. However, compared with the alternatives, you'll find GutterStuff^® to be the easiest, most cost-effective gutter protection solution available.
